The stunning sisterhood that became Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Incorporated started off at none other than Texas Woman's University after Angeles Gonzalez, one of our Founding Mothers, desired to create a unique sisterhood that focused on sisterhood, community service, and academic excellence. In 1992, Angeles and our six other Founding Mothers successfully created a community of women with bonds that rival those typically reserved for families. Our Founding Mothers are:
